Vectors of Data Disclosure

The project, which is supported by the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt) focuses on the handling of personal data from an interdisciplinary perspective. The aim is to investigate the extent to which the willingness to disclose one's own data depends on a cultural imprint as well as on the existing legal framework. The role of cognitive and affective factors will also be considered. In addition, the transnational character of business models based on the disclosure of personal data will be assessed for the first time on a broader comparative basis.

Researchers from three faculties at the University of Passau are investigating these and other questions in the project "Vectors of Data Disclosure." The research group works together in the context of an international comparison, combining perspectives from law, cultural studies and business informatics.
