If you are interested, please contact the respective supervisor by email with the following documents:

  • Desired topic with a brief explanation
  • Current CV with Abitur grade and, if applicable, Bachelor's grade
  • Current transcript of grades with passed and failed exams and, if applicable, transcript of grades from Bachelor's programme
  • Desired start date
  • If applicable, interest in other advertised topics (with prioritisation)

Application Deadlines

You can apply for the currently advertised topics on two dates per semester:

  • Application for the summer semester:
    • by 15 March; confirmation or rejection by 22 March at the latest
      (      This year on March 23, 2026, due to vacation periods at the chair; possible acceptance of the topic by the student until March 25, 2026).
    • by 28 April; confirmation or rejection by 5 May at the latest (if supervision capacity is still available at the department)
  • Application for the winter semester:
    • by 15 August; confirmation or rejection by 22 August at the latest
    • by 31 October; confirmation or rejection by 7 November at the latest (if supervision capacity is still available at the department)

Applications are welcome at any time, even before the application deadline.

We will endeavour to respond to you as soon as possible.
